I hope so too. Sara just got accepted to Sydney University last night, and the plan is currently that I am going to go with her when she moves in the Winter. Also, Sara's making a very good effort of making money on her own as both she and her parents want her to do this. I don't really care about a difference in family inheritance so long as the independence is there.

Sigh. I know the feeling. I feel trapped because I *have* to have a job--I don't have the financial security to go to school, to travel, to move away, to do anything but work. My one parent is in absolutely no position to help me, even if I were in desperate circumstances (and, depending on how you see 10k of credit card debt that is mostly from health expenses from when I didn't have insurance, I am in dire circumstances). On the other hand, Jeff's parents are very well off and he can essentially do anything he pleases. He has no debt to pay off, no obligations to work full-time. It's a hard balance, inherently unfair, and it puts the future in a weird limbo of compromise. I hope that you and Sara find a way to make it work. Would you be going to Aussie with her?
