With the success of his book, Reply, Eli E. Hertz wanted to further promote its distribution by providing an online version of the texts for people to read and search through.

For the online edition of Reply, the text needed to be supplemented with navigational aids and converted into a format suitable for display on the Internet. Additionally, this process needed to ensure that the content of the book remained accessible to everyone, as the primary goal of this project was to increase the reach of the book.

Maymay Media created a page layout and navigational scheme that closely mimicked the original book's design while taking advantage of the unique benefits the Web can offer. Since the site was designed with the reader in mind, it features several different navigational schemes including both sequential and hypertextual navigation, so that it is easy to read the book “from cover to cover” or to jump to any chapter (or section within a chapter) at any time.

Finally, accessibility was ensured by using only standards-based XHTML and CSS, as well as gracefully-degrading JavaScript for some interactive effects.
